Serial Car Burglar Busted In Bayonne: Police

A 55-year-old Bayonne man was arrested and charged with breaking into five vehicles in the city over the course of 10 days, authorities said.

Jose Quinones was taken into custody on Friday, June 9 on 25th Street and Avenue E for the burglaries committed between Thursday, May 25 and Sunday, June 4. Police had been attempting to locate him for five days.

On the afternoon of May 25, Quinones took items from a parked vehicle on West 23rd St, police said. On Monday, May 29, Quinones struck twice, breaking into vehicles on East and West 44th Street, police said.

On June 4, officers in the area of East 25th Street and Avenue E observed a man breaking into a parked vehicle, police said.. They chased him but eventually lost sight of him but were able to recover the items he stole, police said.

Five days later, police spotted him and placed him under arrest, officers said. Quinones was charged with five counts of burglary and four counts of theft.
